History: This historic vineyard is considered to be a first cru in Cantenac, Known by the name 'Gorce' until the Chateau was brought by the Baron of Brane in 1833, the estate encompasses the best land around the village of Cantenac. The Baron sold his other Chateau, 'Brane-Mouton' (later to be renamed 'Mouton-Rothschild') in order to devote himself entirely to Brane-Cantenac. Today the Chateau is owned by Henri Lurton, whose family became involved with Brane-Cantenac in 1925.
